Identifying social determinants of health to assist in recovery and return to work

Case managers have long known the importance of getting to know an injured employee and their family on a more intimate level. They understand that observing the “whole person,” helps to identify factors such as economic stability, home life, and access to healthy food. And they are keenly aware that these aspects of a person’s life, also known as social determinants of health, have a significant influence on recovery and return to work. During this session, we’ll focus on defining social determinants of health, the conditions in which an individual lives, works, learns and plays, and discuss how to align a care management approach to address these non-medical barriers.

November 26, 2019

While the complexity of vehicle technology continues to explode, automotive paint processes seem to have remained relatively stagnant since the advent of waterborne base coats and the introduction of three-stage coatings on some luxury vehicles. Pharmacy Nurse – When specialized attention is what’s needed

November 25, 2019

Workers’ comp pharmacy costs represent approximately 18% of total medical spend. That translates to $5 billion in pharmacy spend nationwide.1 Most employers and payors utilize Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) which offer an excellent line of defense in managing these ever-increasing pharmacy costs. But PBMs, by design, only manage the pharmacy related aspects of a claim. What if you could extend the reach of your PBM by combining it with the knowledge, care and one-on-one delivery model used in case management? With a pharmacy nurse, you can.

What Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications May Mean for Auto Insurers and Collision Repair Facilities

November 25, 2019

Not so long ago, a “collision warning system” was defined as nothing more than “honking your horn.” While that analogue system still has its place, it is limited in its preventive measures, not to mention its potential for misuse. Fortunately, advancements in ADAS technology (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) have greatly expanded our collision warning measures, but the industry has also been hard at work taking that technology a step further by enabling our cars to alert us—and each other—to real-time, dynamic information.
