In Q1 2025, claims frequency for repairable, collision-damaged battery electric vehicles (BEVs) rose to 3.12% in the U.S. and 4.48% in Canada. That is an increase of approximately 31% in the U.S. and Canada over Q1 2024 and 2% and 4% respectively over the previous quarter. BEV sales remain strong and accounted for more than 9% of new vehicle sales in the U.S. and 10% of new vehicle sales in Canada in March 2025.

Claims frequency for collision-damaged, repairable battery electric vehicles (BEVs) rose to 2.71% in the U.S. and 3.84% in Canada in 2024, a year-over-year increase of 38% and 34% respectively. CNBC reported that BEVs and hybrids represented 20% of all new U.S. vehicle sales in 2024, and Cox Automotive is predicting that number to climb to 25% in 2025 despite U.S. policy changes that could hinder BEV adoption.

In Q3 2024, claims frequency for repairable collision-damaged battery electric vehicles (BEVs) rose to 3.01% in the U.S. and 3.97% in Canada, an increase of 47% and 26% respectively year over year (YOY). While BEV sales have slowed, they still represent 8% of new vehicle sales in the U.S. (up 11.3% YOY) and 9.49% in Canada (up 18.47% YOY).
